Mexican Axolotl Optimization: A Novel Bioinspired Heuristic

When facing certain problems in science, engineering or technology, it is not enough to find a solution, but essential seek and the best possible solution through optimization. In many cases exact optimization procedures are applicable due great computational complexity of problems. As an alternative optimization, there approximate algorithms, whose purpose reduce by pruning some areas problem search space. To achieve this, researchers have been inspired nature, because animals plants tend optimize their life processes. The this research design novel bioinspired algorithm for numeric optimization: Mexican Axolotl Optimization algorithm. effectiveness our proposal was compared against nine algorithms (artificial bee colony, cuckoo search, dragonfly algorithm, differential evolution, firefly fitness dependent optimizer, whale monarch butterfly slime mould algorithm) when applied over four sets benchmark functions (unimodal, multimodal, composite competition functions). statistical analysis shows ability obtained very good results all experiments, except functions, where exhibits average performance.
